MOFCOM Training Program Delegation Visits WEL to Explore "China Solutions" in Energy Services
On March 24, 2026, the “Seminar on Investment Cooperation and Development for Developing Countries”, hosted by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) under China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and supported by the China-Africa Business Council, visited the headquarters of Wison Engineering. The delegation comprised government officials from eight countries, including South Africa, Tanzania, Colombia, and Cambodia, representing their ministries of commerce and finance. The visit offered a window into the international management practices and energy transition efforts of a leading Chinese enterprise.
The event brought together Wison Engineering’s CFO Li Dun and CTO Liu Hengwei, alongside representatives from the China-Africa Business Council, Sinosure Shanghai Branch, China Triumph International Engineering, JA Solar, and other partners.
The visit transformed policy-level discussions on investment cooperation into an on-the-ground exploration of China’s engineering capabilities in the energy sector. Wison Engineering served as a showcase for Chinese companies that have successfully expanded globally. CFO Li Dun extended a warm welcome to the delegation, noting that Wison has been a pioneer in China’s energy engineering sector going global. He emphasized the company’s commitment to integrating world-class project execution with localized resources, and expressed hope that the exchange would help align Wison’s strengths with the specific needs of the participating countries to forge mutually beneficial energy partnerships.
AIBO and China-Africa Business Council representatives praised Wison’s international track record. Wu Wei, an official from AIBO, remarked that Wison Engineering serves as a valuable reference for officials seeking to advance cooperation in the energy and chemical sectors. Wang Jiang, Secretary General of the China-Africa Business Council, commended Wison for its dedication and resilience in overseas markets, calling it a compelling example of Chinese enterprises navigating complex international environments and expressing hope for continued collaboration on high-quality projects.
During the seminar, representatives from Wison Engineering, Sinosure, and China Triumph International delivered presentations on topics ranging from global service capabilities and energy transition strategies to policy-backed financing for overseas projects and practical experience in international engineering. These presentations sparked active engagement from the delegation. Officials from participating countries raised questions related to their own industrialization challenges, engaging in multi-dimensional discussions with Wison’s expert team and partners. The dialogue outlined a comprehensive collaboration framework, spanning financing, risk mitigation, and project delivery.
In closing, Wison Engineering’s CTO Liu Hengwei reaffirmed the company’s commitment to advancing the energy transition. The in-depth exchange further strengthened trust between Wison and government officials from Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America, laying a solid foundation for future international cooperation under the Belt and Road framework.
