Wison Engineering and Wison New Energies Partner with SGS to Strengthen Carbon Management and Address CBAM Challenges
On April 2, 2026, SGS, the internationally recognized testing, inspection, and certification organization, once again awarded Wison Engineering and Wison New Energies with the Greenhouse Gas Verification Statement in accordance with the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard. The attainment of this internationally recognized certification signifies that the company has established a mature, standardized, and consistently high-performing carbon emissions management system. Mr. Zhou Hongliang, CEO of Wison Engineering; Mr. Fan Chuiyang, Vice President and QHSE Director of Wison New Energies; and Mr. Chen Huijun, General Manager of SGS Shanghai Branch and General Manager of Management and Assurance Services, East China Region, attended the certification ceremony.

In his remarks, Mr. Zhou Hongliang, CEO of Wison Engineering, expressed his appreciation for the professional verification services provided by SGS. He stated: “Receiving the Greenhouse Gas Verification Statement from SGS represents strong recognition of Wison’s long-standing commitment to sustainable development. The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism poses significant challenges to our projects worldwide. In response, we are further embedding sustainable supply chain practices into our corporate strategy and operations, while delivering more green and low-carbon engineering solutions to our clients, thereby contributing to the global energy transition.”

Mr. Chen Huijun, General Manager of SGS Shanghai Branch and General Manager of the Management and Assurance Services, East China Region, stated: “As global efforts to address climate change continue to accelerate, the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) has already progressed from a policy concept into the stage of practical implementation. Encouragingly, the Scope 3 carbon accounting capability demonstrated by Wison today represents precisely the kind of forward-looking ‘must-have capability’ and ‘first-mover advantage’ required to respond to international green trade frameworks such as CBAM. CBAM brings not only compliance challenges, but also a critical window to translate carbon management capabilities directly into cost advantages and market opportunities. For industry leaders like Wison, which have already established a comprehensive and robust carbon management foundation, this presents an excellent opportunity to transform environmental leadership into broader industry leadership.”

Following the certification ceremony, a dedicated training session was conducted in which experts from SGS first reviewed Wison’s carbon verification achievements under the ISO 14064 framework. They also developed differentiated decarbonization pathways for the Wison Engineering and Wison New Energies segments, enabling both management and technical teams to gain deeper insights into their carbon emissions structure and evolving trends.

In response to the compliance challenges posed by the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), experts from SGS provided a series of practical recommendations. These included strengthening supply chain management, applying carbon finance instruments for price hedging, and enhancing internal management systems. They also delivered an in-depth analysis of the potential impacts of CBAM on the energy engineering sector and its value chain, along with corresponding response strategies.

This certification ceremony and thematic training session not only reaffirmed the achievements of Wison Engineering and Wison New Energies in carbon management but also underscored Wison’s determination to elevate carbon management from a “compliance exercise” to an “embedded management capability.” Looking ahead, as global green trade regulations become increasingly stringent, Wison will proactively respond to evolving international requirements, transforming environmental responsibility into a foundational pillar of its core competitiveness, and striving to achieve steady and sustainable growth in the global market.
