WEL Shares Green Decarbonization Engineering Practices at Industry Think Tank Seminar
To support the high-quality development of the petroleum and chemical survey & design industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the Think Tank Thematic Seminar hosted by the China Petroleum and Chemical Survey & Design Association was held in Beijing on October 27, 2026. Nearly 60 industry experts and association leaders attended the seminar. Combining keynote presentations and roundtable forums, the seminar featured in-depth discussions centering on three themes: digital intelligence, green development and high-quality growth. At the seminar, the 2026 Association Special-Grade Expert Appointment Ceremony was held. Li Yansheng, Senior Advisor and Chairman of the Technical Committee of Wison Engineering, was appointed as a Special-Grade Expert of the Association. He was also invited as a guest for the "Greenization" themed roundtable forum to share the company's practical achievements in the fields of carbon emission reduction and carbon accounting.

During the roundtable discussion, Li Yansheng elaborated on Wison Engineering's decarbonization achievements with representative engineering cases. The first domestic 10,000-ton-scale pilot plant for capturing carbon dioxide from power plant flue gas and hydrogenating it to produce methanol, undertaken by Wison under the process package optimization and secondary development, detailed design and EPC contracting, passed an on-site operation assessment organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. Its average carbon dioxide capture rate exceeded 95%, reaching a maximum of over 99%; compared with the traditional coal-to-methanol process, its energy consumption was reduced by more than 70%, with key performance indicators at the industry-leading level. In terms of carbon management system development, Wison Engineering has established a full-value-chain carbon inventory system. As the first petrochemical engineering enterprise in China to fully disclose Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, the company has obtained ISO 14064-1:2018 greenhouse gas verification statements issued by SGS for two consecutive years, enabling regularized carbon management. Meanwhile, leveraging its proven modular construction expertise, the company shifts a large proportion of construction work to off-site prefabrication, substantially lowering carbon emissions generated during on-site construction while aligning low-carbon targets with efficient, high-quality project delivery.

The seminar serves as a think tank platform for showcasing cutting-edge industry outcomes, exchanging experience and sharing technologies, pooling intellectual resources to advance the green transition and innovative development of the industry under the 15th Five-Year Plan. As a professional technical service provider for the petrochemical engineering sector, Wison Engineering stays committed to its corporate mission — "Better Technology, Better Future". The company keeps improving its full-spectrum low-carbon technology system covering carbon reduction at the source, emission cut in the process and carbon sequestration at the end. Going forward, Wison Engineering will continue to make breakthroughs in core low-carbon technologies, deliver high-efficiency low-carbon engineering solutions, drive the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure through engineering technological innovation, and contribute Wison's expertise and strength to the sustainable development of the energy and chemical industry.
