Wison Engineering Launches Flex-to-X: An Integrated Engineering Product Platform for Green Fuels and Chemicals
At the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2026), Wison Engineering announced the launch of Flex-to-X, an integrated engineering product platform tailored for the green fuels and chemicals sector.
Built upon Wison's long-standing R&D and lessons learned from hundreds of energy and chemical projects delivered worldwide, Flex-to-X seamlessly integrates intelligent system optimization, standardized engineering, controlled customization, and modular delivery. By enhancing cost, schedule, and delivery predictability, the platform offers more competitive economics for the industrial-scale deployment of green fuels and chemicals.
From Modularization to Productization, and Beyond to Platformization
Flex-to-X exemplifies Wison Engineering's strategic innovation pathway—evolving from modularization and productization toward platformization. Leveraging its deep-rooted expertise in modular execution and the productization practices of MegaFlex integrated green hydrogen plant solution, the platform extends reusable engineering architectures, standardized modules and defined interfaces, integrated system optimization, and established industrial partnerships into a broader range of green fuel and carbon solutions.
At the core of Flex-to-X is a fundamental shift from traditional "Engineer-to-Order" (ETO) to a "Configure-to-Order" (CTO) paradigm. Driven by a "standardized core with controlled customization," Flex-to-X improves delivery efficiency, enhances predictability, optimizes project economics, and creates favorable conditions for greater bankability of green fuel projects — all while accommodating necessary project-specific designs.
One Intelligent Platform, Six Product Solutions
Built around the core pillars of Predictable, Replicable, Configurable, and Scalable, Flex-to-X is powered by the ReIPS (Renewable Energy Intelligent Programming System) optimization engine, seamlessly integrating six product solutions.
ReIPS connects resource data, plant configurations, hourly operation, and project economics. By dynamically modeling and co-optimizing renewable power, battery storage, electrolysis, hydrogen storage, and downstream synthesis, ReIPS has already been applied in more than 20 Power-to-X projects worldwide.
Across its six product categories, Flex-to-X features multiple established engineering reference configurations alongside continuously evolving solutions for emerging process routes:
MegaFlex | Integrated green hydrogen plant solution
An integrated green hydrogen plant solution combining system optimization, standardized engineering, flexible operation, and modular delivery.
AmmoFlex | Green ammonia solution
A green ammonia solution tailored to cope with variable renewable power through flexible synthesis, heat integration, and optimized hydrogen storage.
MethanoFlex | Green methanol solution
A flexible green methanol solution featuring flexible operation, energy-efficiency measures, and multiple production pathways.
MethanFlex | Green methane/eNG solution
Combining methanation technology with standardized, productized engineering.
SAFlex | Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Integrated engineering solution incorporating key synthesis processes, plant-wide optimization, and modular delivery.
CarbonFlex | Carbon-capture solution
A modular industrial carbon-capture solution for industrial emissions, which can also provide CO₂ feedstock for downstream green fuel and chemical production.
An Open Ecosystem for Industrial Scale
Dr. Hengwei Liu, CTO of Wison Engineering, stated: "The energy transition is entering a stage where technological feasibility alone is no longer enough. What matters increasingly is whether we can translate innovation into competitive, financeable and replicable industrial solutions. Flex-to-X reflects our belief that engineering companies must turn accumulated project experience into continuously improving industrial capabilities. Our ambition is to make industrial plants more predictable, replicable, configurable and scalable — bringing greater certainty to an increasingly uncertain world."
Flex-to-X embraces an open, technology-neutral approach, allowing seamless integration with technology licensors, equipment suppliers, and industrial partners according to specific project needs—adapting flexibly to local resource conditions, technology pathways, project scale, and local regulatory requirements.
Moving forward, Wison Engineering will continue to refine the Flex-to-X platform through real project experience, technology innovation and engineering knowledge to accelerate the real-world project implementation and industrial-scale deployment of green fuels and chemicals.
