Wison Engineering Introduces MegaFlex 2.0 at ADIPEC 2026, Expanding Green Hydrogen Solutions for Harsh Environments
During the global introduction of the Flex-to-X engineering product platform at ADIPEC 2026 in ABU DHABI, UAE, Wison Engineering presented the latest evolution of MegaFlex 2.0, its integrated green hydrogen engineering solution. First introduced in June 2025, MegaFlex is now being developed with expanded engineering configuration options for demanding conditions, particularly high temperatures, desert environments and limited freshwater availability.

Building on the Original Engineering Product
MegaFlex was conceived to address green hydrogen project economics, execution risk, delivery predictability and the potential for global replication. Its foundation combines three complementary capabilities: ReIPS-supported integrated system evaluation (ReIPS is Wison's proprietary Renewable Energy Intelligent Programming System), standardized engineering architectures and defined interfaces, and modular fabrication and delivery.

MegaFlex 2.0 builds on that foundation, expanding engineering configuration options for more challenging climatic, resource and site conditions. It combines reusable engineering solutions with targeted project-specific design where required.

Three Application-Specific Configuration Directions
Heat, dust and water scarcity may occur together, influencing cooling, equipment selection, maintainability and project economics. MegaFlex 2.0 therefore approaches adaptation through integrated engineering rather than isolated equipment modifications. Its configuration directions include:

• Desert-Adapted MegaFlex: Engineering considerations for high ambient temperatures, dust and arid conditions, including thermal management, cooling choices, sunlight and dust protection, relevant corrosion protection for salt spray and modular execution.

• Water-Efficient MegaFlex: Multiple cooling options are provided to reduce evaporative loss, together with wastewater reuse schemes to cut water consumption, enabling evaluation of water consumption alongside energy demand, CAPEX and OPEX.

• Space-Efficient MegaFlex: Compact equipment and module arrangements, and vertical layout options where appropriate, with continued attention to safety, construction, access, operation and maintenance.

These are application-specific configuration directions within MegaFlex 2.0. We keep refining each solution for diverse site conditions, and they will be validated through real engineering deployment.

Optimizing the Plant as an Integrated System
At the system configuration stage, particularly for off-grid and weak-grid projects powered by large-scale renewable electricity, ReIPS adopts 8,760-hour simulation analysis to deliver co-optimization across renewable power output, energy storage, electrolytic hydrogen production and downstream systems. It screens configuration alternatives to cut capital expenditure and generates operational control strategies to reduce operating expenditure. For complex operating conditions, the focus lies in coordinated sizing of all subsystems, rather than isolated optimization of individual equipment.

For project developers, the expected value is better alignment with local conditions, more transparent engineering trade-offs and stronger inputs to cost, schedule and operating assumptions. Potential CAPEX/OPEX and bankability benefits depend on each project's technical scope, procurement conditions and subsequent validation.

Evolving Within Flex-to-X
MegaFlex is the green hydrogen solution family within Wison's evolving Flex-to-X engineering product platform. Wison is developing shared engineering architectures, interface practices and optimization capabilities that may support integration with other solution families where technically appropriate. Product configurations will continue to evolve through customer requirements, technology partnerships and lessons from projects.

“When we introduced MegaFlex in 2025, our ambition was to make green hydrogen projects more competitive, predictable and repeatable through integrated engineering, standardization and modular delivery,” said Dr. Hengwei Liu, Chief Technology Officer of Wison Engineering. “With MegaFlex 2.0, we are extending that approach to more demanding operating environments. The principle remains the same: configure what is repeatable, and engineer what is unique. The value of each improvement ultimately will be demonstrated through real project economics and execution.”

Wison Engineering will continue advancing MegaFlex 2.0 with customers, hydrogen equipment OEMs, supply-chain partners, and its multidisciplinary teams, incorporating appropriate engineering evidence and project feedback into future configurations.
