Wison Engineering and HydoTech Forge Strategic Collaboration Agreement
2025-02-10

Wison Engineering Ltd. and Hydo Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic collaboration agreement at the Wison Center to advance the joint development and market promotion of alkaline hydrogen production system balance of plant (BOP) on February 10, 2025. This strategic partnership aims to leverage Wison Engineering's technical development capabilities in chemical engineering and its extensive experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), alongside HydoTech’s strengths in advanced green hydrogen solutions, including its self-developed square-shaped plug-in pressurized electrolysis technology, smart management system, and full life-cycle solutions. The partnership will focus on enhancing HydoTech's alkaline hydrogen production technology through the standardization, serialization, and modularization of electrolytic hydrogen production systems. This will include the development of BOP systems that integrate multiple electrolyzers, as well as engineering large-scale methanol and ammonia projects that incorporate alkaline hydrogen production systems and demonstration platforms. Together, Wison Engineering and HydoTech are committed to advancing green hydrogen technologies and expanding their market presence.

The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both companies, including Zhou Hongliang (CEO), Liu Hengwei (CTO), and Lv Jianning (Vice President) from Wison Engineering, along with Yao Changsheng (CEO), Hu Junming (Deputy General Manager), and Zhang Lianghu (Chief Engineer) from HydoTech.

Mr. Liu Hengwei, on behalf of Wison Engineering, welcomed the HydoTech team and presented an overview of Wison Engineering's strategic transformation and new energy development initiatives. Mr. Liu stated, "From a product perspective, we will focus on four major products: green hydrogen, green ammonia, green methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). To support these products, we are concentrating on three key technological pathways to continuously enhance our technical advantages. The first is power-to-X (PtX), which involves the diversified conversion between electricity and hydrogen. By prioritizing green hydrogen production, we aim to develop a series of standardized and modular products, forming a PtX technology cluster to establish a competitive edge. The second pathway is biomass-to-X (BtX), building on Wison Engineering's substantial expertise in coal gasification. We plan to focus on biomass gasification as a core technology, continuously improving our capabilities and exploring new business models for growth. The third pathway centers on carbon capture and utilization (CCU). We look forward to deepening our collaboration, leveraging complementary strengths to create innovative synergies, and driving the green transformation of the energy industry.

Mr. Yao Changsheng, CEO of HydoTech, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating that, in light of the global energy transition and carbon neutrality goals, HydoTech remains dedicated to pioneering advancements in green hydrogen technology. The company has achieved several technological breakthroughs, reducing the levelized cost over the entire lifecycle and delivering significant value to customers.

Among its innovations, HydoTech's independently developed square-shaped plug-in pressurized alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production system, the Hydolyser®, has improved hydrogen production efficiency and reduced energy consumption by 10% through innovations in standardized cells, cartridge stacks, and smart management solutions. Compared to traditional circular alkaline tanks, this technology addresses industry challenges, offering lower hydrogen production costs, better adaptability to green electricity, and simpler operation and maintenance. This strategic collaboration with Wison Engineering symbolizes a deep integration of green hydrogen technology with chemical engineering expertise. Together, HydoTech and Wison Engineering are well-positioned to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and building a cleaner, low-carbon future.
