WEL Collaborates with International Institutions to Explore Sustainable Supply Chain Transformation
2025-04-24

In response to global green supply chain transformation trends and to explore low-carbon development solutions, Wison Engineering participated in the "Sustainable Supply Chain Transformation and Financing Symposium" jointly organized by SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd. (SGS), World Resources Institute (WRI), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK),and Hong Kong Baptist University. Held at Shanghai Wison Center, the hybrid event convened enterprise representatives, financial institutions, and academic experts to discuss innovative models for sustainable supply chain finance and accelerate green transition across industrial chains.

Addressing cost pressures and collaboration challenges in green supply chain transformation, the symposium focused on innovative applications of sustainable financial instruments. The "Sustainable Supply Chain Finance Research Project" jointly initiated by SGS, WRI, and CUHK proposed a breakthrough solution linking financing costs to environmental performance in supply chains.

Zeng Zhijia (Board Secretary), Wang Xiaohui (General Manager of QHSE Department), and Li Lijun (QHSE Director of QHSE Department) actively participated in the discussions. They addressed inquiries from perspectives including corporate governance compliance and the establishment of ESG risk management systems, while proposing exploratory directions for application scenarios integrating sustainable financial instruments with supply chain carbon-performance linkage mechanisms.

At the operational level, Wang Meng, Financing Director of Wison Group, analyzed challenges through corporate case studies: "Current supply chain finance products still face practical implementation hurdles such as complex procedures and low supplier cooperation rates during deployment, resulting in insufficient participation willingness among small and medium-sized suppliers. Future solutions must involve streamlining processes through digital tools while exploring innovative models that connect green credit interest rate incentives with emission reduction targets, thereby effectively reducing overall supply chain costs." Chen Handong, Head of the Technical Comprehensive Team of the Procurement Department, supplemented these remarks with implementation progress: "During the establishment of our centralized bidding and procurement center, Wison Engineering has developed green assessment criteria for supplier qualification screening. We are progressively incorporating ESG performance evaluations to institutionalize a green supply chain management system."

This symposium provided Wison Engineering with a platform for dialogue with academic and international institutions, reflecting its commitment to industry innovation. Moving forward, Wison Engineering will deepen participation in sustainable supply chain finance research, leveraging technological innovation to co-develop green transition pathways. Through continuous exploration and practical implementation, the Company aims to establish a tailored sustainable supply chain model that balances low-carbon efficiency with operational excellence.
