(15 June, 2020, Shanghai) Wison Engineering (02236.HK) has recently been awarded an engineering design contract by Dongying Weilian Chemical Co.,Ltd. (“Dongying Weilian Chemical”) for a 2,500 KTA PTA (purified terephthalic acid) project. The contract covers engineering design for the PTA Unit and utilities.

As one of key projects designated by Shandong State government for 2020, this 2,500 KTA PTA project owned by Dongying Weilian Chemical is scheduled to start up in the second quarter of 2022. This project will further integrate Dongying Weillian Chemical’s RMB100 billion refining-petrochemical into polyester industry, strategically expedite its industrial transformation, and expend the base petrochemical into higher value-added down streams.

This new project is the second cooperation between Wison Engineering and BP on the PTA project, following the successful start-up of Xin Fengming Group’s 2,500 KTA PTA project in Zhejiang Dushan.  Xin Fengming Group’s PTA project  is the largest PTA plant in China. The successful and on-schedule completion of Xin Fengming Project Phase Ion October 30, 2019 has won a high recognition in industry, proving achievement of combination of BP’s latest PTA technology and Wison Engineering’s rich experiences in PTA design. The engineering design for the Xin Fengming Phase II project has also been completed.
